Do you think that the PayPal payment option is really necessary for an eCommerce website? 3 comments
I own a Yahoo! Merchants Solutions store and I’m trying to figure out the pros and cons of accepting payments through PayPal. Is it really necessary? I understand that PayPal has become a widely used method of payment and a lot of people actually prefer to pay through PayPal rather than pay by non-PayPal credit card payments (I guess they find some security in paying with PayPal?). I already have a merchant account set up to accept regular credit card payments. Is it really a good idea to accept PayPal, too? The good thing about accepting payments through PayPal on my website is that a customer does not need to be registered with PayPal in order to use it. That is definitely a plus. Is there anyone that owns a website and has had a good experience accepting PayPal AND regular merchant acc’t credit card payments? Is there anyone who has had a negative experience accepting PayPal payments on their own website?

What is the best overall ecommerce solution for a small online store? 1 comment
My wife has been using resources from my work (I own my own biz) to assist her with her site. We had some turnover and now my wife needs the ability to have more control over her site content, what she’s selling, etc. She’s not versed in graphic design, html, etc. And one of my main concerns other than a slick web builder tool (necessity) is payment processing. What option best suits this? Thanks in advance for your answers.

To being with I would like to integrate VISA / Mastercard. What are the most commonly available systems? How much commission do I have to pay to the vendor? How much commission do I have to pay to VISA / Mastercard?

Has anyone been scammed by Ecommerce Marketing? 1 comment
Ecommerce Marketing is a company that supposedly handles advertising for people with internet businesses. These people took $3,000.00 from me, promised alot and did not deliver. They will not answer my phone calls or emails.
Any time anyone ever does business with anyone please, please, please check with the Better Business Bureau before you do. And, beware, they do have companies that look like the better business bureau, for example one is called the online business bureau, Not the same thing!! Watch out folks, there are bad people out there!

Can I build a catalog (using Excel to create the database for an ecommerce shopping cart? 4 comments
I’m new to web building, and I will either use the “WebBuilder” software that comes with my webhosting account, or I can use “Go-Live”, but I want to be able to create and maintain my e-commerce catalogs with “Excel”.

How do you purchase Ecommerce Software without paying another hosting site a monthly fee? 2 comments
I am not interested in scams, hosting places that charge fees. I am solely interested in buying my own Ecommerce software that has everything from website store,no HTML required, to shopping carts. Looking for a reputable company with a good BBB background check before purchasing. Or if you know of a store that carries this, thanks.

What are good ecommerce solutions ? 4 comments
What are good ecommerce solutions ? That are here in the U.S.!
I am looking for an affordable way to sell my products online, any suggestions? Something that is not too expensive, nice site design templates and get me up and running in no time!
Thanks for your help.
Thanx Lui,
However, I want my own site/store, Ebay is not what I want, way to competitive…you have to have a high amount of products just to get on top of the searchs, if I sell tapes and only have 25., someone with 1000 will always get the most traffic as their store is the one everyone will see first.
I want my own individual store, when someone comes to my store its just my products, not an auction site with a million other stores competing against me, I tried those auction sites and your store is crammed with a million other like stores. No, not looking for an auction site.
Anyone else? I’m looking for a ecommerce solution that is not expensive, easy to create my store, cool templates and so forth.
Thanx anyway!

I own a ecommerce website that gets unfairly blocked by work networks. How can I get around this? 3 comments
The website’s name is www.FantasyTrophies.com. I assume it gets blocked because of the word “fantasy”. Is there any way to get around this? Lots of my customers would be logging on at work.
